An history of passion for potatoes

In 1979, a group of potato growers founded La patate Saint-Ambroise in order to join their efforts in the development of a packing and commercialisation centre for their crops.

Thirty years later, La patate Saint-Ambroise has become Groupe Propur Inc, a dynamic enterprise renowned for the quality of its products. Still growing, the enterprise commercializes more than 100 million pounds of potatoes and 2500 tons of cereals yearly as well as processed vegetables. Although the monetary value of sales has varied with fluctuating market prices, since 2006, the volume of potatoes negotiated has gone from 68 million to 101 million pounds, a growth of more than 40%. Sales are presently in excess of 22 million dollars a year and the enterprise maintains its progression through the development of new projects.

Nowadays, Groupe Propur Inc is a leader in the Québec-grown potato market. The organisation stands out through its high processing capacities, its rigorous quality control processes, the quality of its brand and of its products as well as for its respectful attitude towards its employees, suppliers, customers and team of associates.

Although potatoes are at the heart of its development, Group Propur has managed to diversify its activities within three specialties related to agriculture: Table potatoes (Propur), Seed potatoes and bulk (G.R.T. Inc), fresh and processed vegetables (Légupro Inc).

Group Propur has become a regional leader in the domain of vegetables and potato cultivation and commercialisation. Proud of its success, the enterprise can count on a dynamic and efficient team who unite their efforts to constantly progress. Groupe Propur generates more than 70 direct jobs and 56 indirect ones.
